Tango goes Nordic

Passion, intense emotion, and raw energy – a unique evening awaits when Argentine tango meets Nordic jazz!

Violinist Karl Espegard, nominated for the Argentine Grammy Award in 2024, has brought together an all-star lineup of musicians: the acclaimed singer and actress Tora Augestad, jazz star Mathias Eick, and the award-winning Argentine pianist Pablo Murgier. The four musicians first collaborated during Murgier’s visit to Norway in the autumn of 2024, where a spark of unmistakable chemistry emerged.

Now they reunite on stage with an eclectic program that playfully explores the meeting point between Argentine folk music, tango, and Nordic jazz. Featuring original compositions by Murgier and Eick, well-known songs from the tango repertoire, and elements of improvisation, the concert spans from tango’s intense rhythms to the open soundscape of Nordic jazz. This is music that pulses, moves — and surprises.
